Stewed Peaches with Cream

Method
  1. Peel and halve peaches, remove stone.
  2. Place in a heavy pan, with sugar.
  3. Heat over low flame till sugar melts and juice oozes.
  4. Remove from fire, sprinkle nutmeg, transfer to a bowl.
  5. Cool to room temperature, transfer to chiller till required.
  6. Whip up topping as per instructions on individual packet.
  7. Chill in a large icing bag, with a big star nozzle, till required.
  8. Do not allow topping to freeze.
  9. Spoon two peach halves and some juice into individual bowls.
  10. Swirl chilled topping over peaches to cover them and end with a peak in centre.
  11. Place a cherry lightly over topping in centre.
  12. Serve well chilled.

Variation: One may use 1 cup fresh cream with 2 tbsp. sugar, whipped into a light stiff cream for topping, if desired, instead of above options.

Note:
Very good results have been obtained from “Rich’s double dream topping (liquid form) and “Nilgiri’s Vanilla topping mix (powder form)

Shelflife: 24-30 hours in chiller

Ingredients:
5 - ripe firm peaches
50 gms - Sugar
1 packet - whipped topping mix (either liquid or powdered)
4-5 pinches - grated nutmeg
5 - canned stoned cherries(optional)
