Method
  1. Mix the gram flour with the cashewnuts, powdered spices, green chilli, tamarind pulp, coriander leaves, salt and water.
  2. Heat 6 tbsp. oil in a pan.
  3. Add the gram flour mixture and saute for 20 mins on medium heat till dry.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Grease a rectangular 1-inch deep plate with 1 tsp. oil and press the gram flour mixture evenly into it, to about half-inch thickness.
  6. Allow to cool for about 30 mins.
  7. Cut into 2-inch squares.
  8. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown, and serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
Ingredients:
200 gms gram flour
30 cashewnuts, chopped
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 green chilli, chopped
1 tbsp tamarind pulp
4 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste
300 ml water
5 tbsp oil + 1 tsp extra
200 ml oil for deep frying
