Pomegranate is believed to play an important role in preventing heart ailments. For years you`ve believed that pomegranate is extremely good for blood. However, a glass of pomegranate juice is believed to have more sugar content than your regular aerated drinks.

Surrounded by debates pomegranate is one fruit that plays an important role in middle eastern and several Indian dishes. Be it the juice of pomegranate or its dried seeds, it is used in every form of cooking. The juice of pomegranate is reduced to make molasses. Against all odds one can`t deny how delightfully refreshing a glass of pomegranate juice can be on a hot sunny day.

Pomegranate juice is power packed with fibre and studies have revealed that a glass of pomegranate juice a day for two weeks can increase intimate desires in both men and women.

You can`t resist a glass of pomegranate juice and knowing to make one for yourself is an added delight and an easy make!

  1. Add the pomegranate seeds in a mixer jar along with sugar, milk and ice.
  2. Churn till the seeds are out of the pulpy coat and are completely ground.
  3. Transfer it to a strainer and let the milky juice strain away.
  4. Using the back of a table spoon or ladle, press the seeds to strain out more juice.
  5. Serve in a tall cocktail glass or juice glass

1) To deseed pomegranate cut it into half; take a ladle and tap it on the side that has the skin holding it face down on your palm over a bowl. As you tap the upper skin the seeds will fall off. You might get most of the seeds out this way, the rest you can always pick out with your hand.
2) This juice can be made with water too. It would be a thinner version compared to this recipe.
3) You could add lemon juice, chaat powder and black salt to the above recipe omitting milk and adding water.
4) Blend it with some ice and select alcohol and you have an exotic cocktail. Team it up with select fruit juices and you have a mock tail. Add a dollop of your favourite strawberry or vanilla ice cream - you have a lovely smoothie.

Pomegranate - 2 cup (remove the pulpy seeds from 2-pomegranate)
Sugar - 1/4 cup (or according to taste)
milk - 1 cup
Ice cubes - 3-4
