Rawa Modak

Method
  1. Add water and salt to rawa to make a puri-like dough.
  2. Cover and keep aside for 30-40 minutes.

For filling:

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  2. Add sesame seeds, grated coconut and roast for 5 minutes on a medium flame.
  3. Add sugar, keep stirring and bring to a boil.
  4. When the mixture becomes thick, add cardamom powder and turn off the heat.
  5. Make as many small balls as possible out of the dough.
  6. Sprinkle some maida on a board and roll out into thin rounds for the covering.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling and gather all the sides at the top and press it firmly to resemble a fresh fig.
  8. Make sure all the sides are sealed tightly.
  9. Prepare all the modaks and fry on a medium flame till brown.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup - bobmay rawa
1/2 tsp - salt
oil for frying

For filling:
1 1/2 cup - fresh grated coconut
3 tbsp - sesame seeds
3 tbsp - ghee
1 tsp - cardamom powder
1 cup - sugar
