Bread Kulfi Trio

Method
  1. Grind the bread, sugar, milk & almond/cashews, cardamom & rose water into a smooth paste.
  2. Add milk if required. Make 3 parts of this.
  3. Mix in the ingredients for each of the 3 types mentioned above into 1 of these 3 parts separately.
  4. Pour batter into ice-cube trays/kulfi moulds & freeze.
  5. When ready, poke a toothpick halfway in, quickly immerse moulds (partly, not full) into room temp water, take out the kulfis & serve.

Tip:

  • Drizzle some finely chopped unsalted nuts &/or dessicated coconut onto the plate before serving.
  • You can also apply a sheet of wark onto each before the garnish.
  • You can also make a tri-layer kulfi, freezing between layers!
  • Ingredients:
    6 slices - bread
    6 tsp - sugar
    2 cups - full cream milk (or 1 cup milk & 1/2 cup cream)
    1/2 tsp - cardamom pwd or 2 -3 cardamoms
    3 tsp - rose water
    1/2 cup - almonds/cashews
    For type1: Pista kulfi (2 pcs): 2 tbsp crushed pistachios & few drops green food colour
    For type2: Mango kulfi (2pcs): 2 tbsp mango pulp
    For type3: Saffron kulfi (2 pcs): a pinch of saffron & 2 tbsp mixed crushed nuts
