Method
  1. Wash & soak rice for 3 to 4hrs,put it in collander for 1/2hr to drain water.
  2. Spread the rice on aclean cloth & let it dry under shade for 15min.
  3. Grind the rice in a mixie in batches and seive the flour till you get it very fine.
  4. Boil 1 lit of water in a kadai,add 6 to 7 tbsp of prepared rice powder while stirring continously ( to avoid lump formation)to form thin batter (ganjee in telugu) and let it cool.
  5. Now add remaining rice powder to the above batter. Add salt and leave it overnight to ferment.
  6. Next day add required amount of water to prepare thin batter (A little thinner than dosa batter)
  7. Add baking soda,mix well and pour a big laddleful of batter on a thick bottomed greased khadai and rotate the khadai so that the batter will spread like dosa. The result will be like appam of kerala.
  8. This is one of the traditional recipes which my mother used to prepare, serve with a mixture of fresh grated coconut with some sugar & milk/ coconut chutney.
