Channa Masala with Bread

Method
  1. Mash the ginger and green chilies.
  2. Cut the tomatoes and onions in to small pieces.
  3. In a pressure cooker, add 2 to 3 tsp oil and add jeera then let it splutter.
  4. Add the mashed ginger and green chillies and fry for a few seconds.
  5. Add chopped onions and tomatoes and also fry until the onions are tender.
  6. Add the soaked channa and pour water upto the level of chanaa in the vessel.
  7. Add dhaniya powder, salt to taste, chilli powder (if required) and a small bit of jaggery.
  8. Cook it for 25 minutes in the cooker after two three whistles.
  9. Open the cooker after pressure is down.
  10. Add channa masala and chopped green coriander.
  11. Add chopped onion when serving with bread.
  12. Serve hot.
Ingredients:
200 g - channa to be soaked over night
3 to 4 - tomatoes
7 to 8 - big onions
4 - green chillies
2 inches - ginger
1 1/2 tsp - dhaniya powder
1 tsp - channa masala(everest)
for extra spice, add chilli powder(if required)
jeera for garnishing
a small bit of jaggery
2 to 3 tsp - oil
salt to taste
