Whole Wheat Bhakris

Method
  1. Sieve together both flours.
  2. Add salt, sprinkle carom seeds, crushed herbs.
  3. Add water a little at a time, kneading to a soft pliable dough.
  4. Cover with moist cloth. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  5. Take pingpong ball-sized dough, shape into flat round.
  6. Roll to a 2 mm. thick round, using dry flour to dust.
  7. Roast each side on hot griddle till both sides are crisp and golden.
  8. Serve hot with any gravy vegetable or dal.

Making time: 20 minutes (excluding proving time)
Makes: 4-5 bhakris
Shelflife: Best fresh

Note:
Common meatbolic diseases like cholesterol, high triglycerides and high blood pressure can be prevented with regular consumption of whole wheat.

Ingredients:
1 cup - wholewheat flour
1/4 cup - soya flour
1/4 tsp - carom seeds (ajwai) (optional)
1 tsp - dried herbs of choice
salt to taste
water for kneading
