Method
  1. Heat oil in a kadai, add channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves, coriander, asafoetida, red chillies, tamarind and fry till golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool, add coconut, salt and grind in a blender with oil.
  3. Serve with hot rice or roti.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup channa dal/Bengal gram dal
1/2 cup urad dal/black gram
Curry leaves
5-6 - red chilli
Tamarind, a lemon sized
Coriander
Asafoetida
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil to fry
