Method
  1. Soak the tamarind and jaggery in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Mash the soaked tamarind well and strain removing all the liquid and pulp.
  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, and ginger powder.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add the dates and drained raisins.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.

50 gms - dates, destined, cut into strips
1 cup - raisins, washed, soaked in hot water
3 - tamarind, lemon-sized balls
1&1/2 cups - jaggery
2 cups - water
Salt to taste
1 tsp - red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp - cumin seeds, roasted, powdered
1 tsp - ginger powder
