Mango Sweet Chutney

Method
  1. Take the oil in a kadai.
  2. After it becomes hot put mustard.
  3. After it splutters, add the green chilli and mango pieces.
  4. Fry a bit, add haldi, salt and pour water slightly more than the mango pieces are immersed.
  5. Decrease the flame and cover till the mango pieces become very soft.
  6. Now add the jaggery, mix well and cover once again.
  7. Add some water if the mixture is dry.
  8. After a few minutes the jaggery will dissolve and the mango pieces will be cooked in the syrup.
  9. It will become slightly thick.
  10. If it is very thick add some more water as the dish will thicken more as it cools down.
  11. This can be had as side dish for paratha, puri, idli, dosa or even bread.
Ingredients:
1 - small raw mango pieces
1 - green chilli, slit in the middle
3 to 4 tbsp - jaggery
a pinch - haldi
1/2 tsp - mustard
2 tsp - oil
1/2 tsp - salt
