Mango and Jackfruit Pickle

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients except oil with the fruit and mix thoroughly.
  2. Arrange in a large glass jar.
  3. Heat oil to smoking point.
  4. Allow to cool and pour enough oil on top to cover.
Ingredients:
1 kg - jackfruit, cut into pieces
1/2 kg - raw mangoes, cut into pieces
2 tbsp - banarasi rai, pound coarsely
2 tbsp - fennel seeds, pound coarsely
1 1/2 tbsp - fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp - nigella seeds
1 tbsp - turmeric powder
1 tbsp - chilli powder
1/2 tsp - asafetida powder
mustard oil
salt to taste
