    Clean the mangoes with a dry cloth. Cut them into small pieces.

  1. Add moong dal powder and red chilli powder in the same quantities. (1:1 ratio) to that add salt in exactly half the quanity of moong dal powder. (1:1/2 ratio)

  2. Mix this preparation with gingelly oil.

  3. Keep this avakai in a jar away from water and moisture.

You can taste this the next day and relish it with Rice, Chapathi etc. This pesara (moong dal) avakai will last for six months.

Raw Mangoes - 2
Red Chilli Powder - 1 cup
Moong dal powder - 1 cup
Gingelly Oil - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 cup
If you want to have more pickle you can increase the quantity of the items.
