Clean the mangoes with a dry cloth.
Cut them into small pieces.
Add moong dal powder and red chilli powder in the same
quantities. (1:1 ratio) to that add salt in exactly half the quanity of moong dal powder. (1:1/2 ratio)
Mix this preparation with gingelly oil.
Keep this avakai in a jar away from water and moisture.
You can taste this the next day and relish it with Rice, Chapathi
etc. This pesara (moong dal) avakai will last for six months.
