Lima Beans (Pavta) Curry

Method
  1. Soak lima beans in enough water overnight
  2. Put oil abt 2 tbsp in kadai
  3. Add mustard seeds, methi seeds
  4. Let them splutter, then add half of the chopped onion and fry till soft
  5. Add remaining onion and fry until golden borwn, add ginger garlic paste and fry
  6. Add haldi, dhania jeera powder, kala masala or garam masala, red chilli powder fry for few seconds
  7. Add lima beans, coconut milk
  8. If necessary add some water
  9. Add chopped tomatoes and salt
  10. Cover and cook
  11. Check the consistency and add water if it is too dry
  12. Consistency should be of gravy so add a little water if beans are not cooked yet
  13. Beans should be soft but not mashed
  14. Add jaggery if required.
  15. Enjoy with phulkas and rice.

Ingredients:
2 cups - lima beans(soaked overnight)
1/2 cup - coconut milk, approx
1 - big onion, chopped
1 /2 tbsp - ginger garlic paste
1 1/2 - chopped or canned chopped tomato
maharashtrian kala masala
mustard seeds, methi seeds for tadka
haldi, dhania jeera powder, red chilli powder, jaggery (optional)
salt
oil
