First roast the peanuts and take out the outer cover.
Now add these peanuts and green chillies in a mixy with little water and make fine paste.
Now heat oil in a pan.when heated add cumin-mustard seeds.
When this starts spluttering add asafoetida,paste of peanuts and green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and fry for 3 minutes.
Then add cubes of lauki(bottle gourd) and fry for 3-4 mins.
Then add channa daal, garam-masala & salt to taste.
Add 1 and 1/2 cup water and let it boil for 5-8 minutes by stirring in between.
Cook till the Lauki(bottle gourd) cubes becomes soft.
Serve hot with rice or chapattis.
