Dal Tadka

Method
  1. Pressure cook the Dal with Turmeric and salt. (Take care to see that the dal is not mushy).
  2. Take a non stick vessel and add ghee, cumin seeds and red chilli. After the seeds splutter add hing.
  3. Then add the onion and fry till it turns brown.
  4. Then add green chillies and garlic and fry them for a minute.
  5. Add chilli powder and then tomato, cook for sometime.
  6. Add the cooked dal , fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve it with rotis/rice.
Ingredients:
2 cup - toor dal
1/4 tsp - turmeric
salt as per taste

For Tadka:
1 - tomato (finely chopped)
1 - onion (finely chopped)
3 or 4 - green chillies (finely chopped)
2 - red chilli
2 tsps - ghee
1 tsp - cumin seeds
a pinch - hing
1 tsp - chilli powder
2 pods - garlic (sliced or minced)
coriander leaves (finely chopped) for garnish
