Drumstick Vada /MurungaiKai Vadai

Method
  1. Mix up all the flour and powder items together.
  2. Make a paste out of the grinding items without adding water.
  3. Mix the paste well with the flour mix to vada mix consistency.
  4. Take a tbsp of the paste; make small vadas out of it.
  5. Deep fry these vadas and serve.

VARIATION: Gram flour can be replaced by soaked and 50g of coarsely ground bengal gram.

Ingredients:
4 to 5 - drumsticks (boil and extract the pulp)
Salt as per individual taste
Curry leaves/coriander/pudina, all or anyone a tsp full (optional)
Oil to deep fry

Flour Mix:
4 tbsp - gram flour
1 tbsp - rice flour (for crispiness)
1 tsp - chilli powder
2 tsp - coriander powder
Asafetida, a pinch
Turmeric powder, a pinch

Grinding Items:
5 pods - garlic
2cm x 2cm piece - ginger
10 - pepper corns
1 tsp full - cumin seeds
1/4 tsp - aniseed
