Peerkangai curry

Method
  1. Grind coconut, fennel and pepper to a thick smooth paste.
  2. Pour oil in a pan.
  3. Add chopped onions, fry till transparent.
  4. Add curry leaves, green chilli and turmeric
  5. Add tomato and cook well.
  6. Now add the chopped peerkangai, allow to cook till it becomes tender.
  7. Add some water and salt. Cook covered for 7 mins.
  8. Make sure that vegetable is cooked.
  9. Add the groung masala to the vegetable.
  10. Cook till the masala is absorbed and serve with chapathi or sambar rice.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup - grated coconut
10 to 15 - pepper
2 tbsp - fennel
4 medium - peerkangai (ridge gourd)
1 - onion
1- tomato
1 - green chilli
1/2 ts - turmeric
2 tbs - oil
A few curry leaves
Salt to taste
