Bread jamun

  1. Remove the edges from 6 bread slices; place in a bowl.
  2. Add adequate milk and make a dough.
  3. Roll them into balls by gently rolling each portion between your palms into a smooth ball.
  4. The balls must be fried very slowly under medium temperature.
  5. This will ensure complete cooking from inside and even browning.
  6. The syrup should be made earlier and kept warm.
  7. To make hot sugar syrup mix the 2 cups of sugar to 1 cup of water and boil.
  8. Add cardamom to enhance the flavour.
  9. Now add the balls into the syrup and allow it soak for a few hours.
  10. Bread jamun is ready to serve either hot or cold.

Note: If the batter becomes too sticky, add rice flour to get the right consistency.

6-8 - bread slices
1 cup - sugar
Oil for deep fry
Milk as required
cardamom (optional)
