Method
Heat oil in a kadai.
Add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
Add the Bengal gram dhal, dry chilli and asafetida.
Now add the vermicelli and roast till it is golden brown.
Add 2 cups of water and add salt and cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve hot with tomato chutney or mint chutney.
