Vegetable Kaara Kozhukattai

Method
  1. Heat ghee in a kadai and saute the vegetables.
  2. Add all the masala powders.
  3. Cook in a low fire for 3-4 minutes and allow it to cool.
  4. For the kozhukattai, heat 1 cup of water in a kadai.
  5. Add a little salt to the water.
  6. When water boils, add rice flour and stir well.
  7. Once the flour thickens remove from fire and set aside.
  8. Mix the dough well with a little oil and make small balls out of the mixture.
  9. Flatten the balls and then press with your thumb to get a cup shape for the kozhukattai.
  10. Fill in the vegetable stuffing and then steam cook the kozhukattai.

Ingredients:

To prepare the Kozhukattai:
1 cup - rice flour
1 tsp - salt
1 tbsp - oil

To prepare the Vegetable stuffing:
1 cup - grated carrot
1 cup - grated cabbage
1 cup - finely chopped beans
1 cup - finely chopped potato
1 tbsp - finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp - finely chopped curry leaves
1 cup - boiled peas
1 tsp - chilli powder
1 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - cumin powder
A pinch of asafoetida
Salt to taste
1 tbsp - ghee
