Method
  1. Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Save some chopped nuts for garnish.
  3. Drain out all water from rice in a colander.
  4. Heat a heavy saucepan, add ghee.
  5. Melt, add rice, stirfry with spatula for a minute.
  6. Add half milk, half cup hot water.
  7. Stir gently till mixture starts to boil.
  8. Simmer on low till rice is half done.
  9. Add remaining milk, bring back to boil.
  10. Add all other ingredients, stir till boiling resumes.
  11. Simmer on low, till rice is fully cooked.
  12. Serve hot or cold, garnished with some chopped nuts.

Ingredients:
1 - whole milk
3/4 cup - sugar
1/4 cup - basmati rice
1/2 cup - makhanas
1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
1 tbsp - chopped mixed nuts (almonds & pistachios)
1 tsp - ghee
