Vishu rice and curry

Method
  1. Boil the rice ingredients together & simmer, covered, until all the water & milk is absorbed by the rice grains & the grains are cooked.
  2. Melt the jaggery in a non-stick pot & add the coconut milk to it.
  3. Bring in to a boil & add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Pour the curry/sauce over the rice & serve warm with some steamed banana or any South-Indian side.
Ingredients:

For the rice:
1 glass of white rice
1/2 glass full-cream coconut milk
1.5 glasses water
1/2 cup dessicated coconut
Salt & sugar to taste
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder

For the sauce/curry:
A handfull of jaggery
1.5 glasses coconut milk
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder
Salt to taste
