Method
  1. In a covered 1-1/2-qt. microwave-safe glass dish, microwave the walnuts, sugar, corn syrup and salt on high for 4 minutes.
  2. Stir; cook 4 minutes longer. Stir in butter and vanilla.
  3. Cover and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
  4. Add baking soda; stir quickly until lightly foamy.
  5. Immediately pour onto a lightly buttered baking sheet; spread until very thin.
  6. When cool, break into small pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

1/2 tsp - salt
1 tbsp - butter (no substitutes)
1 tsp - vanilla extract
1 tsp - baking soda
