Method
  1. Soak urad dal for about 2 hours.
  2. Microwave the dal for about 9 minutes by covering the dish with a plate.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds in it.
  4. Next add asfoetida, coriander and turmeric powder. Stir for about 1 minute.
  5. Add ginger and chillies and the microwaved dal.
  6. Stir for 5 minutes and your dal is done.
Ingredients:
2 cups - split urad dal
2 tsp - grated ginger
3 - green chillies, chopped
1/2 tsp - coriander powder
1/2 tsp - tumeric powder
less than a pinch - asfoetida
1 tsp - cumin seeds
2 tsp - vegetable oil
