Vegetable Pulao

Method
  1. Heat oil, add cumin; when it splutters, add onion and saute till transparent.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
  3. Now add chopped vegetables, saute for a minute and add salt, pepper powder and garam masala and saute for another 2 minutes until a nice aroma arises.
  4. Meanwhile wash and soak the basmati rice for 10 minutes in 2 cups of water.
  5. Add the sauteed vegetables to the soaked rice, add ghee and put in microwave cooker.
  6. Cook on micro high for 15 minutes.
  7. Ideal to pack as lunch for kids along with onion raitha and chips or tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
1 cup (200 mg) - basmati rice
1 tsp - ginger garlic paste
1 tsp - cumin
1 tsp - garam masala
1 tsp - black pepper powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp - ghee
Oil to saute vegetables and other spices
1/2 cup - vegetables (mix of peas/beans/carrot/capsicum/cabbage)
1/2 tsp - kasoori methi
1 big - onion, cut into fine pieces
