Method
- Peel the vegetable, cut into small pieces, cut tomatoes and green chillies.
- Cook with a little water and turmeric power till the vegetable become soft.
- Remove from the flame, cool and grind in a mixer. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard, add urad dal and asafeotida.
- Add onion in the pan fry till half cooked.
- Now add the ground vegetable, salt and water.
- Cook for 5 minutes till it becomes semi-solid in consistency.
- Remove from heat and serve with idli or dosa.
- Tip: You can make the same pachadi with brinjal also.
