Method
- Soak the cup of plain rice in water, for about 20 minutes.
- Cut potatoes and carrots in various shapes like triangle, semi-circle, square, etc.
- Take a deep frying pan and add ghee and roast the jeera.
- Add the vegetables and turmeric powder and saute for a minute.
- Add just enough water to the vegetables and let it boil for 4-5 minutes.
- Do not over cook the vegetables.
- Add the soaked rice, some more water (just enough to cook the rice) and salt.
- Cover the pan and let it cook, with occasional stirring.
- After the rice is cooked, allow it to cool and serve it with a cup of plain curd.
- Add a pinch of salt to the curd to make it tastier.
Ingredients:
1 small cup - plain rice
100 g - peas
2 - (cut into different shapes) carrot
1 - (cut into different shapes) potato
1/4 tsp - jeera
4 or 5 tsp - ghee
a pinch - turmeric powder
salt to taste
