Wash rice and tuvar dal and keep for 10 mins.
In a pressure pan, heat some oil and put mustard seeds. When they crackle, add asafoetida and finely chopped garlic and red chillies.
Then add turmeric powder and chopped onions, potatoes and tomato. Saute for 2 mins. Then add the washed rice and tuvar dal. Saute till it mixes.
Then add dhania jeera powder and salt as per taste and warm water. Lastly add lemon juice and cook for 10 mins after 1 whistle. (tuvar dal should be properly cooked).
Serve hot with papad and achar of your choice!
