Peas Pulao

Method
  1. Pick, wash and soak the rice for twenty minutes.
  2. Finely slice the onions lengthwise. Heat oil.
  3. Add cumin seeds, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves.
  4. Fry for a second and add the sliced onions.
  5. Fry the onions on a low flame till they are golden brown in colour.
  6. Add red chillie powder and fry for a couple of seconds.
  7. Add the green peas and saut� for a minute.
  8. Add rice, water, and salt to taste. Mix well. Give it a boil.
  9. After the first boil, simmer the gas and cook stirring the rice once or twice while being cooked.
  10. Cook till the rice is done.
  11. Serve with any raita.
Ingredients:
2 cups - rice
250 g - green peas
3 - medium sized onions
4 cups - water to cook rice
1 to 1/2 tsp - red chillie powder
1 small piece - cinnamon
1 tsp - cumin seeds
2 to 3 - bay leaves
4 - cardamoms
2 to 3 - cloves
salt to taste
3 tbsp - oil
