Method
  1. Soak the first three ingredients together in water for 1 hour.
  2. Heat ghee and roast black gram dal and red chili.
  3. Grind the soaked ingredients with roasted ingredients, coconut and green chili to a smooth paste.
  4. Mix the ground paste with turmeric powder, salt and yoghurt, which is beaten till smooth.
  5. Add water and heat until boiling.
  6. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve garnished with coriander leaves.

Ingredients:
yoghurt (curd) - 2 cup
red gram (toor) dal - 2 tbsp
bengal gram (chana) dal - 2 tbsp
raw rice - 2 tbsp
ghee - 1 tbsp
black gram (urad) dal - 2 tsp
dry red chilies - 1 or 2
grated coconut - 3 tbsp
green chilli - 1
turmeric powder - � tsp
water - 6 cup
coriander leaves to garnish
salt to taste
