Onion Paratha

  1. Mix the flour along with all the ingredients and knead like for normal chappatis.
  2. Keep aside for 10-15 mins.
  3. Divide the flour into equal round balls.
  4. Roll it out gently like a chapati using rolling pin,
  5. Heat tawa, put the paratha onto the tawa.
  6. Roast well on both sides on medium fire till brown spots appear.
  7. Before taking off the gas, apply a tsp of oil on both sides.
  8. Please note in case of butter or desi ghee, apply it only after taking the paratha off the gas.
2 cups - wheat flour
2 medium sized - onion finely chopped
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
1/4 tsp - chilli powder (optional)
1 medium sized - green chillies, finely sliced
1/4 tsp - coriander powder
1 cup - coriander leaves, finely chopped
2 tsp - oil, for the kneading
Salt to taste
Oil/Desi Ghee/butter for topping the paratha
