Surakkai Rice Adai

Method
  1. Soak rice and dal for 2/3 hours.
  2. Grate the bottle gourd.
  3. First grind bottle gourd, then add soaked rice, dal, red chilli, salt, large cumin seeds, garlic and grind coarsely.
  4. Season with mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida, curry leaves, onion.
  5. Add to the batter.
  6. This can be made into dosa-like 'adais', no fermentation is required.
  7. Pour out a ladleful and spread out like dosas.
  8. Serve with sambar and chutney.

300g - surakkai (bottlegourd)
2 cups - idly rice
1/2 cup - tur dal
1/4 cup - moong dal
3-4 - red chillies
3-4 cloves - garlic
1/2 tsp - asafoetida
1 tsp - large cumin seeds
Salt
2-3 - onions
Curry leaves
