Spicy Leeks and Dill Roti

Method
  1. Mix together all the ingredients from wheat flour to turmeric powder.
  2. Heat 3 tbsp of oil and saute the leeks till soft.
  3. Add dill, mix well, remove from fire and add to the dry mixture.
  4. Add enough water and knead well to make soft, smooth dough.
  5. Keep covered for 1/2 hour.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 balls.
  7. Roll out each ball thinly.
  8. Heat a griddle and cook the rotis on moderate heat with oil, till golden brown and slightly crisp.
  9. Serve hot with a sweet and hot pickle and curds.

Makes: 8 rotis

Ingredients:
wheat flour - 1 cup
besan (chickpeas flour) - 1 cup
chili powder - 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
vegetable oil - 3 tbsp
leeks - 1 cup, sliced
fresh dill - 2 tbsp, chopped
oil to shallow fry the rotis
salt to taste
water to mix
