Method
  1. Wash and soak both the dals separately in water for about 4 hours.
  2. Drain and grind to a slight coarse paste with all the above ingredients with the exception of onion.
  3. Add minced onion.
  4. Form into round vadas on a wet cloth and deep fry to a golden colour.
  5. Drain and serve hot with chutney of your choice
Ingredients:
75 g - urad dal
250 g - chana dal
2 to 3 - red chillies
a pinch of asafoetida
2 - small onions
salt to taste
