Oats and dates bajji

Method for oats kesari:

  1. Powder the oats coarsely.
  2. Boil the water in a pan.
  3. Mix rava, oats, and sugar, add it to the pan when the water boils.
  4. Add the food colour and keep stirring until it becomes thick.
  5. Finally add ghee and cardamom powder and mix well to make oats kesari and keep it aside.

To make Oats and dates bajji:

  1. Slit the dates neatly and remove the seed.
  2. Stuff 1 tsp kesari inside the dates.
  3. Mix besan, rice flour, chilly powder and salt with adequate water and dip the stuffed dates until it is well coated.
  4. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.

Oats - 1/2 cup
Rava – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 3 cups
Cardamom – 1
Ghee – 2 tblsp
Food color(orange) – a pinch
Dates - 20
Besan - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Oil – for frying
