Method

  1. Peel potatoes and dice into quarter inch cubes. Wash and dry throughly.

  2. Roast Tur Dal and Urad Dal lightly in a tsp. of oil. Grind it into coarse powder.

  3. Put a tsp. of oil in a pan, add the cut potatoes and roast throughly.

  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, asafoetida powder and salt and saute throughly.

  5. Add the powdered Tur and Udad dal (from step 2) to the roasted potatoes.

  6. Mix throughly and serve hot with rotis.

Ingredients:
Potatoes 1/4 kg.
Tur Dal 2 tsps.
Urad Dal 2 tsps.
Red Chilli powder 1/2 tsp.
Asafoetida (hing) a pinch.
Turmeric powder a pinch.
Oil 2 tsp.
Salt to taste.
