Method
- Wash the colocasia throughly
- Scrape the outer skin and wipe with a cloth (just to remove the stickiness).
- Slice them into thin chips with the help of a chips slicer.
- Collect them on a cloth or plastic sheet (do not put them in water).
- Deep fry in batches in hot oil till golden yellow in colour.
- (they may be sticky initially but when you put them in oil and stir, they will get separated while frying).
- Remove to a deep pan or basin .
- Mix salt & red chilli powder (mixed with crushed garlic)
- Sprinkle this on chips while they are still hot.
- Gently toss the basin so that the chips are well coated with the powders.
Variation:
You can use pepper powder in place of chilli powder.
Serve the chips with hot plain rice & sambar or any rice preparations

500 g - colocacia (preferably round of medium size)
salt
1 tbsp - red chilli powder mixed with 3 cloves of crushed garlic
oil to deep fry chips
