Method
  1. Pressure cook channa dal, make it very soft.
  2. Make a paste of it.
  3. Remove excess water if any.
  4. It should be a thick liquid.
  5. Take a thick bottom vessel (preferebly pressure cooker) and start cooking it on low flame.
  6. Add sugar and stir it.
  7. As the sugar gets dissolved in it, add shreded coconut.
  8. Stir it for 2 to 3 mins and keep it aside for cooling.
  9. In the mean time, knead a dough of wheat flour using water, salt and a tsp of hot oil in it.
  10. When the channa dal mixture gets cooled, it becomes quite thick.
  11. Make the puris of the dough.
  12. On the half portion of the puri, spread a teaspoon of mixtue.
  13. Fold the other side on it.
  14. Take it in hand and press it.
  15. Deep fry in the oil.
Ingredients:
channa dal - 1 cup
sugar - 1 cup
coconut, very finely shreded - 1 1/2 cup
flour - 1 cup
salt - 1/4 tsp
oil for deep frying
elaichi as required
