To make the Koftas:
Grate the laukis and add the rest of the ingredients to make a paste. Make small balls and fry the koftas until golden brown.
Grind the onion, ginger and garlic to make a paste.
In a pan heat the oil and add above paste and fry until golden brown.
Now add the chilli, dhania powder, jeera, haldi, hing and fry for 1 minute.
Add the tomato puree along with the salt. Cover and let it cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Now add the 2 cups of water and bring it to boil.
Finally add the fried koftas and let it cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
For the final garnish
Pour the cream over the koftas and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Enjoy the shahi koftas.
1/2 Kg Lauki
2 tablespoon Besan
2 green Chillies (chopped)
8 pieces Cashewnuts (cut up into small pieces)
12 pieces of Raisins
4-5 whole black Pepper corns
Salt to taste
Oil for frying the koftas
For the Gravy :
1 medium size Onion
2 Tomatoes pureed
1 small piece of Ginger
2 cloves Garlic
1/2 teaspoon red Chilli powder
1 teaspoon Dhania powder
1/4 teaspoon Jeera
1/4 teaspoon Haldi
A pinch of Hing
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon Oil
2 cups of Water
For Garnishing :
2 teaspoons of Cream (whipping will work)
A few Coriander Leaves.
