Method-
Grind the ingredients under `To grind section` with a little water to make a smooth paste and keep aside.
- Soak rice and tur dal (add fenugreek seeds to it) separately with enough water for an hour.

In the cooker along with tur dal add 2 cups of water and turmeric powder and cook up to 1 whistle.

Add rice with 3 cups of water and cook up to 2 whistles.

Later add the tamarind extract, salt, the ground paste and cook up to 4 whistles.

Heat ghee in a pan. Add chopped onions, tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Saute them well.

Now heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard and urad dal, curry leaves.
- Add all these to the rice.

Finally garnish with coriander and serve hot.

Serve this rice with avial and enjoy.
