Aloo ki tikki

Method
  1. Soak the chana dal for atleast 4-5 hours or overnight.
  2. Boil the chana dal with turmeric powder, salt in a bowl till it becomes soft.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan; add cooked chana dal, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, black salt, amchoor powder, black pepper powder, chat masala, salt, garam masala and saute it for 5 minutes.
  4. Keep the mixture aside.
  5. Cut the edges of the bread.Dip the Bread Slices in water and squeeze out extra water.
  6. In a bowl take mashed potatoes, bread slices, corn flour and make a soft dough.
  7. Apply little water onto your Palm take a larg quantity from the dough into your palm.Roll them into a ball. Press in the center and add Chana Dal mixture to it.
  8. Put a little of the Chana dal mixture in the centre of each circle
  9. Roll them into a ball again , covering the dal filling completely. Press it lightly.
  10. Similarly prepare more with the remaining Potato and Chana dal filling.
  11. Deep fry in hot oil till brown and crispy. Keep it aside.
  12. Take one alloo tikki in serving plate. Make a big hole in the centre.
  13. Add Green and Sweet Chutney
  14. Add finely chopped onions
  15. Finelly add the Sev onto the top.
  16. Your aloo tikki is ready.
  17. Serve immediately

Note: Do not boil Chana Dal in a pressure cooker otherwise it will become soggy. You can also shallow fry these tikkas.

Ingredients:
3 - boiled, mashed potatoes
3 - bread slices
3 tsp - corn flour

For filling:
1/2 cup - chana dal
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
1/2 tsp - red chilly powder
1/2 tsp - black pepper powder
1/4 tsp - chat masala
1/4 tsp - amchoor powder
Black salt, a pinch
1/2 tsp - garam masala
2-3 tsp - coriander leaves

For garnishing:
1 - small onion, finely chopped
1-2 tsp - coriander leaves
1 tsp - sweet chutney
1 tsp - green chutney
1-2 - green chillies, finely chopped
