Choco - Nut Cake

Method
  1. Mix together maida, semolina, baking powder and salt.
  2. Roast coconut with 2 tsp ghee.
  3. Mix cocoa with hot milk and vanilla. Allow to cool.
  4. Beat butter with sugar. Add the cocoa mixture and beat well.
  5. Add the coconut and nuts. Add the dry ingredients alternately.
  6. Pour in a prepared 8" round or square tin.
  7. Bake in a moderate oven (170 C) till done(about 35-40 minutes).
  8. Cool and cover with chocolate icing. Decorate as desired.

For Chocolate Icing:

  1. Melt butter in a sauce pan.
  2. Add cocoa, cook stirring for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from fire, add icing sugar and essence.
  4. Add hot water little by little till the mixture is like a soft paste.
  5. Pour on the cake and spread quickly.

baking powder - 3 tsp

powdered sugar - 1 cup
butter - � cup
milk - 1 cup
cocoa - 4 tbsp
hot milk - 2 tbsp
vanilla essence - 1 tsp
grated coconut - � cup
chopped nuts - � cup

For Chocolate Icing:
icing sugar - 1 � cup
cocoa - 3 tbsp
butter - 2 � tbsp
vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
hot water - 2 to 3 tbsp
