Method
Mix maida, ghee and baking soda to make a chapati-like batter.
Make small puris.
Make 4 or 5 cuts to each puri and twist.
Deep fry in hot oil.
Make a one-string sugar syrup; add the fried panasa thonalu to it.
Keep them in sugar syrup for 5 to 10 minutes and remove.
Once they are cooled, can be stored.
