Bhende Aru Dalir Bor Diya Tenga

Method
  1. Make a coarse paste of the rice and lentils. Mix with a little salt and check for taste.
  2. Heat oil in a deep fry pan. Make small portions of the paste and fry on medium heat until golden brown. Keep aside.
  3. Now heat 1 tbsp. oil in another pan and add the panch phoron.
  4. Once it splutters, add the chopped mangoes, turmeric powder and sugar.
  5. Mix well and cook on low heat until the mangoes are translucent.
  6. Add ample water and let it boil.
  7. Now lower the heat and add the rice powder mixture and salt.
  8. Mix in the bhindis and fried fritters.
  9. Let this boil till the water becomes half.
  10. Remove and serve hot with steamed rice, fried rice and potatoes.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp - rice, soaked
1 cup - red lentils, soaked
A pinch of panch phoran
2 raw mangoes, peeled and chopped
1 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - sugar
Rice mixture (1 tbsp rice powder mixed with 1/2 cup water)
6 to 8 bhindis
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
