Kakarakai Ullikaram (Onion stuffed bittergourd curry)

Method
  1. Chop bitter gourd into 2.
  2. Make 2 slits on each side.
  3. Saute them in 2 tsp oil and cook covered with a lid on low flame.
  4. Meanwhile grind onion, red chilli, cumin and salt to a coarse paste.
  5. Stuff this onion paste in the sauteed bitter gourd and saute on low flame again till done.
  6. Serve with steamed hot rice or warm chapathis.

3 - bitter gourd
3 - medium-sized onions
5 - red chillies
1 tsp - cumin
Salt to taste
4 tbsp - oil
