Method
  1. Make a dough of rice flour and diluted milk without lumps. Mix yellow colour while kneading; make balls and keep aside.
  2. Mix grated coconut, sugar, cardamom powder in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  3. Add khoya and stir on a low flame.
  4. Allow to cool.
  5. Stuff the prepared coconut khoya mixture in the balls.
  6. Fold in the edges so that it is tapering at the centre.
  7. Now steam-cook the modaks in a cooker for 5 minutes or until done.
  8. Decorate with chopped pistachio.
  9. Refrigerate for half an hour and serve.
Ingredients:
1&1/2 cups rice flour, roasted
2- 3 drops yellow colour
1/2 cup hot milk diluted with 1/4th cup water
3 tsp oil
1/4th cup coconut
2 cups sugar, powdered
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/4th cup khoya
