Method
  1. Wash and dry the colocasia leaves.
  2. Make a paste of gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, asafetida, salt and sugar to taste.
  3. Mix well. Add tamarind water and make paste.
  4. Place the wrong side of the leaves and smear some paste evenly.
  5. Place each leaf one on top of the other and fold in a roll.
  6. In a steamer, steam the rolls for about 20 minutes till done.
  7. Check by inserting a knife.
  8. It should come out clean. Cool.
  9. Cut into small pieces.
  10. Heat oil in a deep vessel; add sesame seeds, cumin seeds and asafetida.
  11. Add the patras in the pan and toss lightly.
  12. Cook for 5 minutes on low flame till crisp.
  13. Garnish with fresh coconut and coriander leaves.
Ingredients:
5 to 6 - colocasia leaves
1 � cups - gram flour
� tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - red chilly powder
1 pinch - asafetida powder
3 to 4 tbsp - tamarind water
sugar to taste
salt to taste

For Tempering:
1 tsp - sesame seeds
� tsp - cumin seeds
2 to 3 tbsp - oil
1 pinch - asafetida

For Garnish:
2 tbsp - fresh coriander
1 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
