Method
Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a dekchi, add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms and bay leaves.
Saute for a minute.
Add onions and fry on a low flame till golden.
Add red chilli powder and saute for few seconds.
Add the rice along with salt and water.
Mix gently. Cook on a high flame till the first boil and then simmer.
Cook till the rice is done.
Serve hot with mutter paneer, methi alloo, alloo gobi or any yellow moong dal.
