Butter murukku

Method
  1. Combine the rice flour, besan, red chilli powder, ajwain seeds, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder and butter in a wide bowl and mix very well.
  2. Make a soft dough by adding the water little by little.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying.
  4. Take a small portion of dough and fill in the murukku / chakli press.
  5. With your hands, press the murukku press over the hot oil.
  6. Deep fry the dough chakli until golden color on both sides.
  7. Remove from the oil and store in a airtight container. Serve as a snack.

Rice Flour : 2 cups
Besan / Gram Flour : 1 cup
Butter, softened : 3 tbsp
Ajwain Seeds : 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder : 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida Powder / Hing : 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder to taste (approx. 2tsp)
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
